There are many real estate issues with which we have disagreed with Elizabeth Rhodes of the Seattle Times. However, we genuinely have to thank her for accurately, and considerately, explaining commission structures. See her article here. Further, Ms. Rhodes is to be commended for the thoughtfulness that guided her to use the insightful remarks of the President of the Washington Realtor Association, Dennis Rose. Rose is also owner of a Yakima real estate company. In previous articles, Ms. Rhodes has conveyed and/or relied upon statements from local broker/owners causing speculation that she is influenced by local industry heads. In seeking a proper authority that doesn’t work in our back yard we painfully admit that perhaps Ms. Rhodes has turned a corner in understanding the importance that her reporting carries thoughout our local industry for both consumers and agents.
